Suzanne is a working mother, South End Tacoma resident, artist, and long-time community activist. She grew up in a military family and moved around a lot (Alabama, California, Greece, Kansas, and Germany). As an adult, she continued to study and work abroad (Russia, Japan, Greece, and Tanzania), but Tacoma has been her home since moving here in 2000.



Masters Degree, UW Jackson School of International Studies Russian East European Central Asian Studies:  Major Political Science, Minor Cultural Anthropology.

Bachelors Degree, The Evergreen State College.

CDMS: Certified Disability Management Specialist


Professional Experience:

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Suzanne works with injured workers and employers across 3 counties. She previously worked in higher education, both in Washington State and abroad.

Community Service: Current: South End Neighborhood Council Board. Advocate for alternatives to fossil fuels. Former appointments: Radio Tacoma’s Board of Directors, City of Tacoma Human Rights Commission. Past volunteer work: outreach with Planned Parenthood, advocate for $15 minimum wage, co-founder Equilibrium Arts Collective.
